Survey and assessment Our qualified surveyors, trained by the Property Care Association, will visit your property and a full environmental survey will be carried out to identify all the areas of invasive weed infestation on your land and/or neighbouring properties. The surveyor will then discuss with you the various options available. A tailored report and quotation will be sent to you, outlining the specialist service we intend to provide. We will advise and report on how we can remove the threat of the invasive species, with minimal effects on the existing habitat that has already had a tough time as a result of the weeds.
Production of RSL Japanese Knotweed Management Plan The RSL Japanese Knotweed Management Plan is an essential document to have if you have Japanese knotweed present on your land, or near to it. It is written to a high standard and has been instrumental in the obtaining of mortgages and house sales, even with Japanese Knotweed present. We have helped home owners secure mortgages, buy to let, sales and purchases, as well as re-mortgaging and tenancy agreements. Upon acceptance of our quotation, a RSL Japanese Knotweed Management Plan will be written for your individual contract and will be provided to you electronically for your use. The Plan will also be updated regularly, with additional information such as treatment dates and progress reports.
Control and eradicate During the on-site survey, we will assess which control method would be most appropriate to your individual situation. This will be decided upon by how large an area the Japanese knotweed growth covers, the location it is in for access and how quickly it needs to be removed.
The treatment program is started as soon as possible, with tactics employed to disrupt and weaken the plant to achieve a quicker result. Progress reports will be sent with lots of photos and explanations as to the effectiveness of the treatment.
A talk by our surveyor on Japanese knotweed is available to all our clients included within the cost of the treatment. It is provided to educate and reassure, with explanations about the plant, why it is growing on your property and how we are controlling it. We have provided these talks to large groups and individuals, and they have been very useful for everyone.
Once the Japanese knotweed has been controlled and eradicated a period of monitoring is entered to wait for two clear growing seasons of no regrowth, to ensure the plant is dead.
A completion certificate will be issued once we are certain the Japanese knotweed is dead, and a ten year guarantee is issued to the property owner to reassure them that if it reappears within that period, that we will return and re-start the treatment free of charge.
We work closely with property management companies where knotweed is growing within communal grounds and local councils with whom, we are approved contractors.
Revegetation/re-establishment of environment
We will provide the provision of horticultural advice and experience to help the affected environment to recover and re-establish itself. The Japanese knotweed was treated in situ, without killing the Hosta it was growing with.
